I think this is beautiful. Beautiful to see the emergence of new types of interracial families in this international community and I’m always happy to see mixed-race people coming from stable, well-adjusted homes. I’m African-American/Italian-American with bits of German & French and there are mixed-race people in my family, one cousin I know of is also of Afro-Asian descent (Japanese, not Chinese). Everyone’s from an older generation where Blackness and Mixedness were much less accepted by both the media and society in general. I myself am an 80s baby and encountered prejudice and discrimination in the South where I lived growing up when certain people knew of my background. It’s like there is a whole new world available for this newest generation of part-black mixed kids. Not perfect, far from perfect, but compared to the older generations of mixed people of African/African-American descent, easier, more diverse, and a lot more interconnected!
