About the instructor
1. Leigh Thompson
Internationally renowned researcher Leigh Thompson specializes in negotiations, collaborative decision-making, team innovation, cooperation, and collaboration. Thompson teaches dispute resolution at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Administration as the J. Jay Gerber Professor of Dispute Resolution. She is the author of 11 books, including The Truth about Negotiations, The Mind and Heart of the Negotiator, Making the Team: A Manager’s Guide, and Creative Conspiracy: The New Standards of Breakthrough Cooperation. The Leading High Performance Teams Executive Program, Bargaining Strategies Executive Initiative, and Constructive Collaborative Executive Program are all directed by Thompson. Thompson travels the world doing research and imparting knowledge. Her best-selling book The Truth about Agreements has been transcribed into seven different languages. Making the Team: A Guide for Managers and The Mind and Heart of the Negotiator, two of her books, are both available in two other languages. For managers and executives, Thompson designed the well-liked online video-teaching series Negotiation 101 and Collaboration 101.
Her articles on group creativity have further featured in BusinessWeek and Fast Company. She is a fellow of the Academy of Management and serves on the editorial boards of various scholarly publications.
